Guide for Authors

The International Journal of Iranian-Islamic Studies accepts articles in the field of Iranian studies and Islamic studies.

Please follow the instructions below to avoid publication delay.

Please register on this site and then submit your article.

1-      The only way to submit articles is through this site:  http://jii.nlai.ir .

Submission of a manuscript implies: that the work described has not been published before; that it is not under consideration for publication anywhere else.

Supervising professor is responsible for the content of the paper which is extracted from a thesis.

2-      This journal is in Persian but an English abstract for any article is necessary and in some cases an Arabic abstract is also required.

3-      Three forms of articles can be published in this journal:

a-       Research articles

b-      Analytical articles(a few number written by scholars can be accepted)

c-       Book reviews

d-      Review articles(up to 10000words is acceptable)

4-      Papers should not exceed 20 pages (6500 words).

5-      The editor has full right to reject or accept or edit papers.

6-      Names of supervisor professors and advisor professors and students are mentioned for an article which is extracted from a thesis but the supervising professor is responsible for the content of the paper.

7-      Please make sure your article contains the following information:

a-       First page: Title in Persian and in English; The name(s) of the author(s) in Persian and in English (name of the corresponding author should be starred); the affiliation(s) of the author(s), i.e. institution, (department) in Persian and in English; address and email address of the corresponding author.

b-      Second page: Title in Persian; Abstract in Persian( maximum 250 words); key words in Persian(maximum 5 key words); Title in English; Abstract in English( maximum 250 words); key words in English(maximum 5 key words)

c-       Next pages: introduction (problem statement, questions , theories, methodology); body (discussion and survey); bibliography; addenda

Note 1: authors shall follow the rules of orthography established by Academy of Persian Language and Literature. Please insert half space if needed.

Note 2: tables and figures should be labeled and accompanied by a footnote at the bottom if necessary.

Note 3: please add footnotes for unknown names and idioms.

Note 4: for the In-text citation use parentheses (family name, year, page number); either for the Persian sources or for the sources which are not in Persian .Please make a 0.5 indent in the right side for direct quotations which contain more than 40 words (font size:12)

Note 5: please make the title of books and journals in the text Bold and Italic (font size: 11); please put titles of papers and poems and short stories in quotation marks.

8-      References and citations:

a-       Books: author’s last name, author’s first name, publication date, book title (Italic, bold, font size: 11); translator’s first name, translator’s last name, edition, place of publication, publisher.

b-      Papers: last name, first name, publication date, paper’s title, Journal’s title (italic, bold, font size: 11), volume, Date Accessed for online journals.

9-      Please follow the instructions below to type papers:

Font: B Yagut; font size: 12; page number: at the bottom; Line spacing: 1/5 cm; Photo format: GPEG; Quality of images: 300 DPI or 300 PPI; clear and bright.
