Abstract
Clothing provides information about the social identity of each person who wears it, such as wealth, religion, and social status. According to human history, fashion has always been subject to change because it depends on people's tastes and the economic and cultural conditions of each period. The style of dress changed in different periods of time, such as the Mamluk period of the year (784-923 AH / 1382-1517 AD), when the Mamluks at that time were called the Mamelukes of the two towers of " Circassian". Given that the research conducted in this article deals in relative terms with the commonalities and differences between the clothes of men in the Mamluk era and the clothes of women in that period, and that among the reasons for the influence of arts on each other is the political and cultural conditions between them, then the study of fashion and clothing has the greatest impact on understanding the psychology of individuals and their social, economic, political and cultural conditions, because they reflect human taste and the progress of art in these periods.
The main purpose of this study is to revive the history of the arts of the Mamluk period through costumes that highlight the artistic richness of these arts. And enriching the library with this type of studies linking art history and clothing design with each other. The results of the research also show the impact of population diversity and the diversity of cultural, economic, social and artistic levels in the Mamluk Empire. Accordingly, the concepts of folk clothing in the Mamluk state and the precise expression of the types of textiles in that period were studied. In addition, this study shows the style of dress of the Mamluk people.
