Nasāyiḥ-i Shāhrokhi, authored by Jalāl Qā’eni, is a significant Mirror for Princes text of the 9th century AH, composed within the political-cultural context of the Timurid period and intimately connected to the figure of Shāhrokh Timuri. This work is a compendium of ethical, religious, and political counsels designed to regulate the Sultan’s conduct and to organizing power relations. The findings of this study indicate that the book represents a deliberate effort to moralize authority and consolidate the legitimacy of the sultanate in an era following the foundational violence of the Timurid state. The present article introduces the author, examines the thematic content of the work, and delineates its salient features.
