Over the past three decades, particular attention has been devoted in Bosnia and Herzegovina to developing Persian lexicographical links with the languages of the South Slavs. The Bosnian-Persian Dictionary, published in Sarajevo in 2010 by the Ibn Sina Scientific and Research Institute, stands out as the first major achievement of Bosnian Iranian Studies in the field of bilingual lexicography. The dictionary is the product of many years of collaborative work by Bosnian scholars Namir Karahalilović, Mubina Moker, and Jenita Haverić. It contains approximately 50,000 Bosnian headwords together with their Persian equivalents, as well as illustrative examples of their usage in collocations, idiomatic expressions, proverbs, and Bosnian sentences, accompanied by their corresponding Persian translations.
