What will be discussed in this article is the review of the first translations of Khayyam's quatrains in Italy. Preliminary studies showed that all the initial translations of these poems were derived from the intermediate language, which was usually English and French. And the English version used and referred by most of the Italian translators is the translation through which his poetry and philosophy entered the western world with the efforts of Edward Fitzgerald, Khayyam Pejoh, an English scholar. In addition, this article will mention the problems that the Italian translators faced due to their lack of knowledge of the deep meanings of Sufism and mysticism, which are the basis of Khayyam's quatrains. Translations that were made directly from manuscripts in Persian language are also mentioned, and the reason for the superiority of these types of translations over the previous ones will be investigated. Finally, a translation by a non-Italian translator in Italy will be mentioned, which is one of the best Italian translations available in terms of interpreting the deep meanings of Khayyam's poems and conveying its teachings to the Italian reader.
